Education and Background:
Linda is a graduate of the East West School of Herbology in the professional herbalist program. This is a comprehensive professional training program Michael encompassing the 3 main traditional healing systems: Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda (from India), and Western Herbalism (used by Naturopaths and herbalists in Europe and America). The East West School has been in continual operation for the past 29 years (www.planetherbs.com). Dr. Michael Tierra OMD the founder of the school and is a founding member of the American Herbalists Guild (www.americanherbalistsguild.com)
Linda is also a graduate of the Clayton College with a PhD in Holistic Nutrition. This broad program included coursework in natural diet, vitamin and mineral supplementation, and Western Herbalism, and Homeopathy, chemistry and biology.
Linda completed additional college coursework in the sciences to gain a more complete foundation. These courses included Biology, Anatomy and Physiology I and II, Nutrition, and Chemistry.
Linda has been working in the area of Natural Health and Healing for the past 15 years. In addition to providing private consultations, she has worked as a Licensed Massage Therapist & a Chiropractic assistant in Chiropractic offices and Health Spas, and in retail stores assisting people with information on nutritional supplements, and has given classes on herbs and
"I first became interested in Natural Healing and Herbalism as a college freshman when I chose the topic of Native Americans' use of herbs. I immediately felt that using natural plant materials for health and healing made absolute sense and that we must get back to that practice.I later found out that many people were doing exactly that and began researching ways to help myself naturally with my own health problems."
Previously, Linda completed a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts and continues to have a love for the arts. In her own artwork she is especially drawn to depicting nature from the artist's perspective. "Art opens the mind to new possibilities".
